Book Review

Conflicts: The conflicts in this book were very real and very stunning. The main conflict is the fact that Anna wants to sue her parents and gain rights to her own body. Other problems arise within this conflict. Do Anna's parents have the right to control Anna's body? Is this fair to Anna? Is this fair to Kate? This book brings up many ethical issues.

Characters: All the characters in My Sister's Keeper were interesting in their own way. My favorite character was Anna, because I agree with her decisions. If I was in Anna's position, I woul've done the same thing. I think she is a very good sister to Kate and Jesse. Another character I liked was Sara. Although she seems like the "bad guy" and can be easily blamed in this story, I think she tries her best to keep her family inact. I remember in the book, she shaved her head so Anna wouldn't be embarassed when they went to the mall together. Things like that show that a mom really cares.

Believeability: This story is very believeable. The characters display actions that real humans would, and the scenario could most definintely happen in real life. Jodi Picoult writes about a family's battle to keep itself together while it is falling apart.
